ITEM ONE (one page, folio): typed copy of Mills' 'programme' ('The object of the proposed research is to study at first hand the effect of these new techniques on building types in the United States [...]'.). ITEM TWO (one page, quarto, typed): letter by Mills dated 3 March 1969. Congratulates the Society on 'the new appearance of the R.S.A. Journal which is an enormous improvement on the past'. Explains that he has been awarded the Fellowship and encloses copy of programme. 'If there is any information I obtain which you think will be of particular interest to members, I shall be very glad to keep in touch with you and would welcome any assistance you can give me.' Signed 'Edward D Mills'. ITEM THREE (one page, quarto): unsigned docketed draft of reply by G. E. Mercer, the Society's Secretary, dated 4 March 1969. 'There are a number of Fellows of the Society in the United States, and if you would like to let me have more details of the tour of that country that you propose to make, I might be able to be of some help to you'. ITEM FOUR (one page, quarto): autograph note to Mercer, signed 'P. J. 5/3/69' on reverse of printed notice, beginning 'At the moment I can't see any way in which we can help.' ITEM FIVE (one page, quarto): unsigned typed draft of letter of 3 April 1969 from Mercer to Professor Simon Lissim ('the Society's senior Honorary Corresponding Member in America'), asking him to assist Mills. ITEM SIX (one page, quarto): unsigned typed draft of letter of 3 April 1969 from Mercer to Mills setting out what he has been doing on Mills' behalf. ITEM SEVEN (one page, octavo): typed memo, dated '2.4.69', giving further details of Mills' itinerary.
