'I need hardly tell you they are delighted to accept this valuable gift. & I am asked to tender you our warmest Thanks - since your husband died - Death has taken heavy toll of our members - but there are still some - & I am one - who will greatly appreciate this bust on personal grounds - & for the rest it will always remain a fine work of Art - & the portrait of a distinguished member of the Academy'. He ends with renewed thanks.
