On aged paper, with front cover, endpapers and first two leaves loose. The book is, as the editor explains in his foreword ('Georgetown, 1946'), extracted from Staunton's 'A Residence in the West Indies and America, with a Narrative of the Expedition to the Island of Walcheren' (London: Richard Bentley, 1834). In ink on front cover: 'To Mr Bowdon [sic] | Ruthin School | Ruthin | North Wales | U.K.' Pencil note on reverse of title: 'Ogle | Demerara | 25/1/50 | Dear Mr Bowden | This is the only book at the moment I can find out here but will look again when some new books come in | Hope you are enjoying Ruthin | Your's [sic] | [signed] A.
