Four engraved caricatures on a single sheet, published by the Regency publisher and printseller Thomas McLean, whose London shop was next to the Haymarket Theatre, and possibly depicting theatrical characters.

The sheet is 38 x 27.5cm; and the dimensions of the plate are34 x 25cm. At foot of plate: 'London, Published by Thos. Mc.Lean, 26 Haymarket, 1824.' The engravings, each 11 x 8cm., are arranged in two rows of two. In good condition, lightly-aged and with a torn pin hole at head, presumably where the print was torn from its string. Moving clockwise from top left, the prints are as follows. One: Contented portly man smoking pipe in front of fire, captioned: 'I am easy with the World, with myself, in Name, in Circumstances, and in my easy chair.' Two: Aged fop lunging forward from seat in surprise, and spilling his tea, captioned 'You Surprize - Alarm me!' Three: Regency buck with prison walls behind him, captioned 'Just Whitewashed, by G-d!' Four: Woman looking like Judy from Punch and Judy, standing outside her front door and ushering the viewer in, captioned 'This way, Sir! excellent accommodation and good Beds.'
