In manuscript on front cover: 'Items marked X the property of Mrs. Wickes Exors'. Some ink emendations, and a large number of lots priced in pencil. Full title reads: 'Catalogue of the Superior Furniture for Entertaining & Sleeping Rooms, Pianoforte, Plate & Plated Ware, Old China, Books, Engravings, 100 Dozens of Wine, Table Services, Glass, Linen, Garden and other Effects, In and About the Late Residence of Mrs. Wickes, Dec.' The First 70 of the 818 lots are the books (probably amassed by Mr Wickes), indicating the good taste of a country gentleman (Daniel's 'Rural Sports', Bewick's 'British Birds', Sowerby's 'English Botany', together with runs of the Sporting Magazine and Art Journal). Pictures and engravings follow as lots 71 to 105, and thereafter lots are arranged by location. Scarce: no copy traced, either on OCLC WorldCat or on COPAC.
