1p., 8vo. In fair condition, on lightly-aged paper, with slight wear and few short closed tears. An interesting artefact, reflecting the postwar British manpower shortage. The heading is all in block capitals, with 'TRADESMEN WANTED' across the top. Beneath the heading is the following quotation: 'Nothing in the application of the schedule of reserved occupations prevents the enlistment of personnel to fill tradesmen's vacancies for which their civil trade or professional capacity qualifies them.' There follows a list of twenty-one trades, from 'Draughtsmen (Architectural)' to 'Drivers (I.C.)', with 'Numbers Required' and 'Rates of Pay during Training or on Service'. Beneath the list: 'All Sappers are paid at the Infantry rates of 2/- per day until such time as they produce a certificate of proficiency at their trade before a Trade Testing Board, which assembles quarterly. | Married men receive Family Allowance in addition to their pay, as in other branches of the Service. | JOIN NOW - WHILE THERE IS A VACANCY IN YOUR TRADE.' Scarce: no copy on COPAC or in the Imperial War Museum.
