Index on p.ii (reverse of front wrap) gives sections (each with subsections) devoted to Sickness Department, Accident Department, Employers' Liability and Accidents to Workmen, Indemnity and Third Party Insurance, Fidelity Guarantees, and Life Department. Also lists Directors, Office-Bearers, Head Office and Branches. The 'Foreword', by Henry Brown, General Manager, begins by explaining that the Association was established in 1885 as the Sickness and Accident Assurance Association Limited of Edinburgh, and that it was 'created and still remains the leading exponent of Insurance against Sickness of all kinds for the Professinal and Mercantile Classes'. The change of name to the version on the document occurred in the year of its publication.
