Three pages, 12mo. Good, but with a couple of closed tears on crease and with the remains of a brown-paper mount adhering to the blank verso of the second leaf of the bifoliate. The letter (2 pages) reads 'The coming coach drove my husband [Sir Francis Palgrave, 1788-1861, civil servant and antiquary] into London before he had well finished his note [see below]. If you like to write to John Gunn, who would I am sure be pleased if he could give you the least help or information, I will add that next week I expect he may quite well be staying at my father's house | Dawson Turner Esqre [1775-1858, botanist and antiquary] | Yarmouth | Norfolk | Excuse haste, for the Church bell warns me, & is more pleasant warning than the 'Bus.' Signed 'E. Palgrave'. The preceding note referred to (one page) reads 'My dear Sir | I doubt if the Venetian dispatches will give much help towards a pacification. If I recollect rightly, the only important fact they disclose is, that the required by the to be given by the communicant, was disregarded | The papers are with my brother in law; and should think he could readily let you see them | Yrs ever truly | T.
