"The Public are respectfully informed that a Society for the Dispersion of Religious Tracts is established at Darlington in the County of Durham, the Tracts to be delivered to Subscribers in the following proportions | one fourth if a subscriber of 5s[0r 10.6, i gn, 2 gn] | a copy of the whole of the Rules may be procured and any further particulars learned on applying post paid to [...]". It concludes with a list of 21 Subscribers, giving names, function in life (14 local vicars or officers of Durham Cathedral, 7 civilians) from Rev. Dr. Bathurst prebendary of Durham to Mr Simon Haw of Darlington. Note: The Religious Tract Society was founded in London 1n 1799.
