2pp, 12mo. On the rectos of the two leaves of a bifolium. In good condition, lightly aged. Folded twice. Begins: ‘Dear Mrs Ross. / We had the pleasure of having your daughter for tea yesterday & I hasten to tell you our pleasure in making her acquaintance. She is indeed charming & intelligent & bright; I am sure she will make the most of her stay here. She seemed to be all right.’ As Mrs Ross is aware, the Siegfrieds are ‘devoted friends of Oxford & we have been in touch with England for so many years that I even dread counting them!’ The present letter is written to tell her how pleased they are to ‘show our friendship to British friends’. Signed ‘Andre [without an accent] Siegfried’.
