1p., folio. In fair condition, lightly aged. Duplicated typescript except for the headings, which are duplicated manuscript. Divided into two parts. The first (longer) part headed: 'Address by His Excellency the Viceroy and Governor General of India'. Willingdon praises his men for the 'discipline, courage and devotion to duty you have shown during the past few weeks since that night when with appalling suddenness this city of Quetta and the surrounding areas were overwhelmed by an earthquake shock which caused a loss of life and destruction of property, probably without parallel in the history of our country'. The second (shorter) part headed: 'Address by His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief in India'. Chetwode states that it is 'my last chance of seeing you before I leave India for good'.
