Both of the present copies carry the stamps, labels and shelfmarks of the Board of Education Library. In manuscript at head of first page: 'With the Dean of St Asaph's compliments'. Stitched. In fair condition, on aged paper. TWO: 'To THE RIGHT HON. SIR WILLIAM HART-DYKE, BART., M.P. | Vice-President of the Committee of Council on Education.' Headed: 'The Society for Utilizing the Welsh Language. | (In Association with the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion.) | "YN NEALL - GWYBOD." | Offices: - 66, Miskin Street, Cardiff. | November 26, 1888.' Signed in type at foot by 'JOHN GRIFFITHS, | Archdeacon of Llandaff, | Chairman of the Society for Utilizing the Welsh Language.' with 'Beriah Gwynne Evans, Secretary.' printed in the bottom left-hand corner. 1p., folio. In conclusion Griffiths urges Hart-Dyke, on behalf of the General Meeting of the Society, to 'grant the representatives of this Society the favour of an early Interview, that we may personally lay before you our reasons for deeming it urgently needful in the interests of education in Wales and Monmouthshire that the above Recommendations of the Royal Commission [regarding the use of the Welsh language in schools] should be speedily put into practice; and at the same time afford any explanation of the matter that you may desire.'
