On one side of a piece of wove paper, dimensions roughly 365 x 255 mm. Laid down on a larger leaf. Lightly creased and a little spotted, but good overall, and with the text entirely legible. The upper part of the item consists of the quotation from Pettis's manuscript book, consisting of nineteen lines in single column and twenty-six lines in double column. It begins 'The day was usher'd in with Ringing, Music, and Versing from door to door. At Eleven o'Clock a Cavalcade was formed in the Court Yard, West of the Church, which made a gallant appearance, in manner and form following'. There follows a description of the cavalcade, in sixteen numbered parts in double column. The lower part of the item consists of Harris's note, which reads 'The above Fete was in good old times, and as we have now before us the prospect, by a lasting peace, of those times returning again, why should not the Old Town of St. IVES unite hand and heart, male and female, high and low, rich and poor, and form a similar procession to Church, on the approaching thanksgiving day, the seventh of JULY next, under the direction and management of a Committee. | Those who are willing to join in the procession, will be pleased to signify their intention to the Churchwardens, on or before Saturday the 2nd of July. | At the request of several of the Inhabitants. | JOSEPH HARRIS.'
