Book: [xii] + 95 pp., 8vo. In fair condition, in original green cloth and worn yellow dustwrapper. Inscribed on front free endpaper: 'For Tom Driberg | With Good Wishes | Robin Skelton | May 1960'. With review slip, on the reverse of which Driberg has written: 'Blake | Graves | Frost | Plomer'. Skelton's Letter: 2pp., 12mo. 20 lines. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Regarding the book he writes that he has 'added a note to the preface to the 2 Ballads of the Muse', which he hopes 'doesn't too much spoil the layout'. He thanks Driberg for his interest in his work. 'I can't help notice that on the back of the "For review" leaflet you have a list . . . . if it refers to me, I must say I feel Blake, Grave, & Frost may well have educated some of my verses - though so have countless others. But Plomer??? I've only read 3 of his poems & I hated them!! But I'm guessing too much. Forgive me.' He explains that Dekker will 'post this on. - He offered to & I'm bad at remembering to post parcels.' He concludes by apologising for being absent when Driberg visited. Dekker's Letter: 1p., 4to. Fair, on lightly-aged paper. 'Here are your books, as corrected and autographed by Robin Skelton. He was away for a few days, hence the delay.' He thanks him for 'coming to the Union last week: it was a most enjoyable occasion and I hope you will be a frequent guest in future.'
