One page, 8vo, good condition, with envelope addressed in Shaw's hand.. "My dear Murray | Nansen, Zilliacos, & Mrs Z[illiacos] are dining with us at 7.45 this evening at the Hotel la Residence, a shebeen on the pother side of the lake. | If by happy chance you have no other engagement, will you join us? | I don't know if Lady Mary [Murray's wife] is with you; but of course the invitation included your party. | It will be pot luck at the hotel; so do not bother about us if you cannot come; and come if you can."

A good clean clear signature ('Fridtjof Nansen'), in strong black ink on 1.75. x 7.5 cm slip of paper. In good condition, lightly aged, laid down on 6.5 x 9 cm piece of paper cut from album. Laid down above the signature slip is a 3 cm square photograph of 'Dr. Nansen' in top hat, cut from a newspaper.
