The 'Mr. Stanton' referred to in the letter is presumably the journalist Theodore Stanton, son of the abolitionist Henry Brewster Stanton (1805-1887) and his wife the suffragist Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902). 4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition, lightly aged and worn. The letter begins: 'Some time ago I half promised to write a letter to an American paper whose Editor is the brother of a friend of mine, & who lives in Paris.
