Parish of St George's Middlesex also known as St George's-in-the-East to distinguish it from other St George's in London. It was designed by Hawksmoor. Approximately 50 (fifty) invoices and receipts ranging from scraps of 2 x 2" to 4to and folio pages, most approx. 3 x 6". Subjects include: porter (to drink) for men, payment to ringers "for Ringing his Majestys Birthday" (1783), beef, salaries, groceries, hardware, Money Boxes, extensive building works (at various times), maintenance of clocks, payment for blowing the organ (1777), surplices, wine, repairing pump, payment to grave digger and others, AND a comprehensive list of printing expenses (funeral hymns, Christmas hymn sheets, certificates of marriage, etc, etc. - printer = J. Skirven, Old Gravel Road, Ratcliff Highway). Many transactions mention the churchwardens.
