Austen Leigh" is tipped on the inside of the front wrap. dated 17 Jan. 1945,addressed to "Venn", 1.5 pages. He says, "I send you as promised some notes on Charles Manners St George, and Samuel St Swithin Burden Whalley, which I hope are moderately correct. The former was a son of my great grandmother by her first marriage, and the second married a great aunt of mine - why the [?] was knighted at so early an age is not known to his family. Indeed he is something of a mystery, and it is said used to sing rather ribald songs when he occasionally stayed with his brother-in-law, the Archbishop of Dublin! But this is off the record." No apparent connection with the pamphlet. Several copies on COPAC etc.
