Document, typed, three pages, sm. fol., good condition. A "Mr. Benoist" of 36 Piccadilly (where he provided luxury food: CUISINE, CHARCUTERIE ET COMESTIBLES "FRANCAISES, on behalf of the proprietors of the Grafton Galleries, facilitates the letting of the Galleries to "Messrs Montague Morris and V. Fodor of 12 Talbot House St Martin's Lane". The document is signed by Benoist as Director of the Galleries, and by "Montague & Fodor". Clause as follows: 1. & 2. agreement that "picture and Fine Art Exhibitions" allowed from 20 Oct. 1908 to 25 Dec.1908; 3. Resposibilities of the Grafton Galleries owners to staff (payment etc); 4. Details of work paid for by proprietors (hanginf and repacking pictures, etc); 5. Tenants to organise exhibitions of paintings on certain dates October to November [Note: No detail given but the folowing exhibitions held at this time, 1908, October–November: The Franco-British Art Association, joint exhibition of Frits Thaulow, Hippolyte Camille Delpy, Arsène Chabanian1908, December: Georges Petit of Paris, second annual London salon of original etchings"]; 6. Second exhibition terms; 7. lecture on foreign language or Art permitted on certain days with tenant's agreement; 8. demonstration in physical exercises "to a number of lady pupils" agreed by tenants; 8. lecture for the Entente Cordiale Society allowed by tenants; 10. Morrris and Fodor permitted to have conferences under certain conditions; 11. Agreement ot allow tenants the premises on 15 Oct.; 12. Payment of rent for two months (£250).
